On April 6, 2014 the local favorite Mexican restaurant in Italy, Texas “Mama’s” arrived to prepare for the days customers and found the back door frame shattered and door open. Juanita called her husband to come quickly and he inspected the inside as it was still dark outside because it was so early to discover the cash register had been stolen. As a local hot spot and just back in business they like most people who had a breakin, were dumbfounded by who did it and why they did it.
V3 cares reached out to them and as the technician arrived to install the security system he noticed the tip jar was filling up with cash from all the daily local customers to help Esteban and Mama’s get back on their feet. The community was reaching out by donating cash and when Esteban asked us how much it costs we told him how V3 cares works (there is no charge) and he said “free burritos for life!”
